Efforts to achieve one of the career development objectives and of also improving academic performance in the schools, a debate competition was organized among Gwollu LA  Junior high school cultural club and Wuljua junior high school cultural club on the  topic   our Culture and Tradition must be maintained in our modern Ghanaian Society  speak for or against. This was held on the 27th November, 2010. The Wuljua School spoke for the motion while the Gwollu LA School spoke against the motion.
 

The key objective of this project is to build up good, fluent public speaking and reading skills among these pupils, it will also help them develop confidence and intellectual skills, and this if improved upon can mould the individual pupils into potential parliamentarians and efficient future leaders.

At the end of the debate sessions Gwollu LA School emerged as the winning school. Participants won a lot of prices in the form of books, pens, clocks and other valuable reading materials for themselves and their schools.
